Scandinavian hand painted folk plate, large size, at 16 1/2”. Great vintage condition, a piece of Midwest immigrant history. Text says ‘coffee is the best drink in the world’ and I am not sure it is spelled correctly; which adds to the charm! The back of the plate has a small novel written in pencil, explaining origin of plate: “This plate was made from a barrel cover by an artistic secretary at Barker Letz Mpls from whom Stan worked under Gene 1940- 1953 and then he went on direct with Gene and covered 5 states’ Who wants to know about Stan and Gene and the artistic secretary now?! And what did they do across 5 states? Excellent piece for a cabin
