For modernists, maximalists and magpies, Summers and Cox is a cabinet of curiosities, a veritable vintage shop of dreams and a resource for well-designed objects with character and soul. The shop is curated by Suzie Stegic, intrepid world traveler, vintage collector and vinyl record connoisseur. A native Minnesotan with Scandinavian and British roots, Suzie is the chatelaine of a 1930s foursquare home in the historic Lowry Hill neighborhood of Minneapolis, Minnesota, a place where great design is as abundant as the more than 10,000 lakes.
For Suzie, design is absolutely everything—a reason for being, the backdrop for a well-lived life, and a catalyst for increasingly important conversations about the value of craft. Inspired by her English grandmothers Betty Summers and Nancy Cox and informed by years of study in art and applied design, Suzie has an unerring eye for beauty, quality and design integrity.
Whether Suzie’s tromping in wellies through English fields (and falling into a badger hole—true story!) on her way to an antique fair, canvassing Cape Cod flea markets or road-tripping through the cornfields of Iowa in search of vintage treasures, she loves unearthing beautiful, purposeful pieces, sharing them with her clients and having conversations about—what else—the enduring power of great design!
